About Us

CDC Capital Markets provides secondary market solutions to SBA 504 lenders across the United States, connecting them to the wholesale lending markets, thereby expanding financing options to small businesses.

CDC Capital Markets is a wholly owned subsidiary of CDC Small Business Finance.  Our aim is to provide more access to capital by facilitating SBA-504 secondary market access to banks, non-bank lenders, brokers and the small business lending community.

CDC Small Business Finance is the nation’s #1 provider of SBA 504 loans, which are designed to help small businesses buy, construct or improve commercial and industrial buildings as well as buy and install heavy machinery and equipment.  A third-party lender makes a loan in first position (typically 50% of the project cost); a CDC makes a loan in 2nd position (which is the SBA guaranteed portion), typically for 40% of the project cost; and the borrower typically injects a 10% down payment.

CDC Capital Markets’ outreach efforts are spearheaded by Ken Rosenthal, Senior Advisor of Lending, Education and Training.  He served as a senior loan officer for 20 years for CDC Small Business, facilitating the funding of over 1,000 SBA 504 loans totaling more than $2 billion.  He is a former board member for the National Association of Development Companies (NADCO).
